How much does it cost and how long does it take?
Our services generally take
anywhere between 1/2 day and 3 weeks depending on the amount of work recommended
and agreed upon between Red Door Design and
the homeowner. The
more cosmetic changes you have like wallpaper removal, new carpet, etc. the
longer it will take to complete the job to get it ready for the market. Effective
home staging should end up making you money not costing you money.
Do I need to be present?
You do not have to be present...our home stagers and contractors come in and perform the work. You can be as involved or uninvolved as you want to be.
What if my home is not expensive enough to justify staging?
ANY home no matter what the price can benefit from professional staging. We
can work within your budget to help you professionally market your property.
What if i don't want to spend any money on the home I'm selling.
If your financial advisor told you that you would make at least 6% on your
money over the course of the next two months by investing in a stock would
you do it? Did you know that by spending as little as $2000 on professional
home staging up front, statistically you will sell 50% faster and for AT LEAST
6% more than you would have without professional staging? For a $200,000
house that's $12,000 for spending less than $2000 on professional staging! 
Will you use my existing furnishings?
Yes. As home staging professionals, we will use most of your existing furnishings
in ways you may have never imagined. We "shop" your home for items and
use them in the creative staging process. Other "staging" accessories are
often suggested in our evaluation.
Can't homebuyers look past the décor?
Only a very small percentage of homebuyers can actually visualize the potential of a home. What they see is what they get and you as the seller only have one shot at making what they see count. If you have wallpaper on your walls and your competition doesn’t, then a buyer doesn’t need to visualize…they’ll just buy from your competition!
What if my home is vacant?
There is a reason why builders/developers spend many thousands of dollars doing model homes. Vacant homes show poorly and they don’t sell well. Vacant homes show smaller (not larger) and they lack the warmth and scale that furniture brings to a home. And, vacant homes scream: desperate…buy me…they’ll take a low offer…they can’t afford this home! It is never a good idea to leave your home vacant.
What about marketing and photography?
Post-staging photography is highly recommended. Research shows that while
buyers may not buy a home based on pictures online, they will eliminate a home
based on pictures online. We will make sure your pictures draw buyers in, not turn them away!
